Policies for Appointment Cancellation Notification, Late Arrival, and “No Show”

Important Policies

Nushama is committed to providing exceptional care for all of its members. These policies have been established to support our mission and serve all better.  Unfortunately, when one person cancels without giving enough notice, arrives late, or does not show up for their appointment, they prevent another from being seen and receiving proper care.

Definitions

Appointment Cancellation

Any member who cancels an appointment after the cut-off time outlined in the policy below.

Late Arrival

Any member who arrives at the clinic 10 minutes after the expected arrival time for the scheduled appointment.

No Show

Any member who fails to arrive for a scheduled appointment.

Our Policy

Appointment Cancellation Notification Deadline

Please call us at (646) 394-9996 by noon, the business day before your scheduled appointment, to notify us of any changes or cancellations. For example: call the office by noon on Thursday to change an appointment scheduled for Friday or call our office by noon on Friday to cancel a Monday appointment.

Intake Appointments

  • If cancellation notification is not given before noon of the previous business day, you will be charged a $50 fee for the missed appointment.
  • If you cancel without appropriate notification more than twice, you will forfeit your intake fee and not be allowed to reschedule.

Journey Appointments

If cancellation notification is not given before noon the previous business day, you will be charged $350 for the missed appointment.

Therapy Appointments

  • Existing – If cancellation notification is not given before noon the previous business day, you will be charged $50 for the missed appointment.
  • New – If cancellation notification is not given before noon the previous business day, or you do not show up, you will be charged $100 for the missed appointment.

Important

  • Please plan to arrive 10 to 15 minutes before your scheduled appointment. If you are 10 or more minutes late, the appointment may be canceled and rescheduled. If so, cancellation fees will apply.
  • Repeated missed appointments may result in the termination of your Nushama membership.

Enforcement of this policy is at the discretion of the Nushama team.
