At Nushama, we are committed to transforming lives through innovative therapies. One of our most profound treatments is ketamine infusions, which have proven remarkably effective for a wide range of psychological conditions. Today, we share a powerful case study from one of our clients who has experienced significant mental health improvements thanks to ketamine therapy and the comprehensive care at Nushama.
Brittany’s Ketamine Testimonial
Making the choice to get ketamine infusions is the best thing I’ve ever done for my mental health, and getting them administered at Nushama is just the same. The integration therapy that they offer has been integral to my progress, and there is no place I’d rather be treated. This review will be long.
Ketamine infusions are not only changing my life, but could quite literally save it. My mental health has been declining for my entire life, but in the past couple of years, it’s rapidly spiraled downward. As someone who has known nothing but chaos, the transformation I’ve seen within myself over 3 weeks has blown my mind. People notice that I’m quieter, but what they don’t know is that it’s because my thoughts aren’t always trying to suffocate me anymore.
My diagnoses are BPD, suicidal depression, bipolar 2, PTSD, ADHD, and generalized anxiety. The constant buzzing, swarming & stinging in my brain — it’s quieter now. The anxiety is no longer debilitating, and the physical symptoms have gone down immensely. The sadness exists somewhere, but it’s not drowning me, and it’s not constant. My focus is better. I’m starting to live, not just observe the world around me. I’m getting out of bed. I’m eating more. Sleeping more consistently. I’m going to work. I’m on time. My BPD symptoms have improved. They exist, but my brain’s drastically easing up on the reins. I’m not as afraid to be alone, not so quick to react or as angry about things that don’t actually matter. It’s becoming easier to let go of so much of the petty stuff. My default response to something going wrong is no longer (ALWAYS) “AHHH!!!” I have come a long way in a short time. Even though sometimes I feel myself pulling back, I see that I’m still moving forward. I’m the best version of myself I’ve been and growing. I have the medicine to thank, but the staff to thank for that too.
I have met a handful of people this year who have shown me that there are good people in the world who care and will do whatever they can to help, as I’ve been trying to save my life. So many of them can be found at Nushama. From Ally at the front desk to each person you meet onward — they are all exceptional. I never felt the need to retell my story because they all communicate so thoroughly, which Dr. Radowitz mentioned during our first meeting. His enthusiasm for helping people is radiant. He encouraged me when I was afraid that I couldn’t be helped, then, the rest of the team did too. Though I could give everyone I met a shoutout, Google has a character limit, SO I want to highlight a few who I feel should be seen as they’ve helped me feel seen just the same:
As I waited in my room before my first journey, I had no idea what to expect in terms of my medical team. Certainly no one as warm as Franky, my first nurse. She sets the bar for what every nurse should be. She made me feel comfortable & safe from the get-go. I wish I could have gotten a chance to thank her in person for that, considering mentally, I was nowhere near comfortable or safe.
Eric was the integration therapist I worked with the most, and I cherish him. Our laughs were always paired with insight that I will carry with me always.
Anisa gave me one of the most insightful conversations & laughs I’ve had in a while. She is a light, along with Jess, my nurse who treated me the same day.
Karl is an incredible nurse. His kindness & attentiveness to me as a patient, I always appreciated.
Alexi, who I saw as my regular physician, has a gentle empathy. She went and continues to go great lengths to ensure I feel supported, and help me get the help I need.
Finally, Lauren, Nushama’s member advocate, helped me believe there was hope when I had almost lost it entirely. I can never thank her enough for connecting with me & enrolling me at Nushama.
Really though, thank you all. I look forward to seeing you again when I can come back for a booster.
Case Study: How Ketamine Can Support PTSD, ADHD, Bipolar, Suicidal, Anxious, and Depression Conditions
This powerful testimonial underscores the profound impact that personalized care and advanced treatments like ketamine therapy can have on individuals grappling with complex mental health conditions.
At Nushama, we are dedicated to providing a supportive environment where healing and transformation can flourish.
Below, we explore how ketamine therapy supports the specific conditions mentioned by our client:
Borderline Personality Disorder (BPD): Ketamine may help alleviate the emotional dysregulation and mood swings associated with BPD by enhancing neuroplasticity, allowing patients to form healthier thought patterns and emotional responses.
Suicidal Depression: Rapid antidepressant effects are one of ketamine’s most notable benefits, providing relief from depressive symptoms and reducing suicidal ideation often faster than traditional antidepressants.
Bipolar Disorder: For those with bipolar depression, ketamine can offer symptom relief during depressive phases without triggering mania, which is a risk associated with some other types of antidepressants.
PTSD: Ketamine has been shown to disrupt the negative thought patterns associated with PTSD, providing a “mental reset” that can decrease the frequency and intensity of traumatic memories and associated stress.
ADHD: By promoting the formation of new neural pathways, ketamine may help improve focus and reduce the hyperactivity and impulsivity typical of ADHD.
Generalized Anxiety Disorder: Ketamine can provide rapid relief from anxiety symptoms, decreasing the overall anxiety level and helping to manage the physical symptoms of anxiety such as restlessness or muscle tension.
Each person’s journey is unique, and our team at Nushama is here to guide and support our clients through their personalized treatment plans.
